    his handsome antique French bronze ornament, partially gilded, is crafted with the head of the Greek god Pan, a faun or satyr with horns along with acanthus leaves and oak leaves and acorns. Pan was a significant figure in the Romantic movement in European art in the 19th century. In Greek mythology, satyrs were rustic fertility spirits and the companions of Pan. There are two screws on the back. This piece is in very good condition with a lovely aged patina. Please refer to the detailed photos on this page.
