    bronze and features a design of grapes and grapevines.

    ”, indicating that this piece was created for and exhibited at the Salon of 1912 in Paris.
    Albert
    Marionnet
    (1852 - ca.1910), was a sculptor and designer in precious metals in Paris who specialized in the highest quality decorative objects on the Parisian market during the last third of the 19th century and first decade of the 20th century. He was especially well known for his desk items - inkwells, letter openers, etc. He belonged to the Naturalist movement of his period and also made pieces in the
    Art Nouveau
    style. His work was regularly exhibited in Parisian galleries and salons, especially in the

    Décoratifs
    section of the prestigious annual Paris Salon. He also exhibited at the Paris Universal Exposition of 1900, the

    d’Arts
    Décoratifs

    Mandé
    , just on the edge of Paris, in 1901, as well as in numerous salons such as those organized by the

    in the

    Gardens and those of the
