Description

Very rare antique wooden circus cage wagon with mohair bear. The wagon measures approximately 12 inches long, 5 1/2 inches wide, and 8 inches tall. I have only come across one other and they had it listed as German, but I can't confirm. It has a yellow mohair bear on a wooden platform inside the largest compartment. When the door is opened the bear rotates out on a spring-loaded platform and the bear is supposed to growl at you. There is a bellows-type mechanism located in the back underneath, it is hooked to the bear with string that is loose so it's not pulling and releasing the bellow. I didn't try to adjust it but did a small video activating the bellow manually and it works. The side doors open with a separate compartment for additional animals. There are a few small areas of wear to the litho paper on the roof and some glue residue where the animal shelves in the cage are attached. Small chip in bottom back corner and split to the wood wheel axle which was glued. Both areas marked up, otherwise typical age-related wear for a 100-year-old antique toy.
