    Peter Dienes (PéDé) opened a factory in Germany in 1869 that specialized in manual coffee grinders.The Dutch son-in-law of Peter Dienes, Paul Land, opened in 1919 a factory in The Netherlands and started the production of coffee grinders, bread slicers and the well-known string bean grinders.
